The ABB FPNO-21 is a two-port PROFINET IO fieldbus adapter designed to connect ABB variable frequency drives and industrial drive systems to PROFINET-based automation networks. It supports PROFINET Conformance Class B (CC-B), PROFIdrive, and ABB drive profiles, enabling PLC-based control, monitoring, and communication with connected drives.The adapter features two Ethernet ports with an integrated switch, supporting Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) without requiring an external network switch. It also supports PROFINET S2 system redundancy, allowing connection to primary and backup PROFINET controllers.Additional functions include Shared Device support, PROFIsafe communication when used with compatible safety options, SNTP time synchronization, and OPC UA support for condition monitoring and diagnostics. The module is designed for ABB common architecture drives and can be configured using the PLC engineering environment.
