Product Description
The ABB CRBX01 is a compact optical remote bus extender for the ABB Ability™ Symphony® Plus SD Series. It transparently extends the redundant HN800 I/O bus over multimode fiber, supporting up to 60 HN800 devices per remote link and transmission distances of up to 3 km. It can also be used to extend the CW800 bus for peer-to-peer communication between SD Series HPC800 controllers.

CRBX01 is a communication/bus extension module, not a conventional I/O module. It is used in pairs to create a redundant fiber-optic remote link. ABB’s current documentation states that each remote link can support up to 60 HN800 devices, with up to 8 remote links per controller and a maximum link distance of 3.0 km using 62.5/125 µm multimode fiber.
