Description

Pepperl+Fuchs R-SP-E12

Fieldbus Segment Protector | 12 Spur Outputs | FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 / PROFIBUS PA | Short-Circuit Protection | Hazardous-Area Applications

Product Detailed Description

The Pepperl+Fuchs R-SP-E12 is a FieldConnex fieldbus segment protector designed to connect field instruments to a fieldbus trunk while providing individual short-circuit protection for each of its 12 spur outputs. It is intended for process automation systems using FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 or PROFIBUS PA, particularly installations involving hazardous areas and compatible explosion-protection concepts. The device limits current on a faulty spur to help maintain operation of the other devices on the segment. It features fixed screw terminals, an integrated selectable 100 Ω terminating resistor, status LEDs for power, communication, channel errors and termination, plus surge protection for the trunk and spurs. Its application in Zone 1 / Division 2 systems depends on the relevant approvals, enclosure, installation method and applicable local regulations.
